StreetQuizine chefs prepare fresh meals in a food truck for an event

If you're thinking about hiring a food truck for catering, you shouldn't just focus on the food selection. Equally important are the potential serving speed, the services included, the venue requirements, and a transparent process.

With StreetQuizine, you can generally book food truck catering for groups of 30 guests or more. You don’t just get a food truck—you get a fully planned catering service that includes chefs, serving staff, an all-you-can-eat main course option, and a dedicated point of contact. Upon request, we can also handle beverages, furniture, tents, and other aspects of your event.

What do you order from a food truck catering service?

At StreetQuizine, the food truck isn't rented out as an empty vehicle. You book a full catering service that's tailored to your event and carried out by our team.

Depending on the menu, food truck catering may include:

  • a fully equipped food truck
  • Trained chefs and serving staff in the food truck
  • Balanced meals and diets
  • Preparation, Setup, and Teardown
  • an agreed-upon release time
  • Dishes, silverware, napkins, and matching sauces
  • Custom-printed menus
  • Cleaning the Food Truck
  • Disposal of Waste Generated by Our Catering Services
  • a dedicated point of contact for the entire planning process

This makes the concept ideal for corporate events, summer parties, Christmas parties, weddings, birthdays, trade shows, roadshows, anniversaries, and large-scale events.

What information is needed to prepare a quote?

The more details we have about your event, the better we can plan the food truck, menu, and staff.

To provide an initial quote, we usually need:

  1. Event Date
  2. exact address or ZIP code
  3. expected number of guests
  4. Desired start time for meal service
  5. Planned duration of the issue
  6. preferred dining concept
  7. Common Diets and Food Intolerances
  8. Desired Additional Services

If some details aren't finalized yet, that's not a problem. We can discuss various options and then adjust the quote accordingly. As a rule, you'll receive a response or a customized quote within 24 hours on business days.

How are meals and food trucks planned?

The number of food trucks needed isn't determined solely by the total number of guests. The most important factors are the time frame during which guests will be served and the types of dishes that will be offered.

Depending on the menu, a single food truck can serve up to about 250 portions per hour. With particularly efficient food concepts and at large events, the output can be even higher. If all guests arrive at the same time, planning must be different than for a summer festival, where service is spread out over several hours.

For burgers and bowls, a second food truck may be a good idea for events with around 200 guests or more. For more elaborate BBQ or French dishes, this may be the case for events with as few as 150 guests. For very large events, we combine our seven food trucks with additional serving stations as needed.

Our goal is not to set up as many vehicles as possible, but to determine the appropriate number to ensure quick distribution and an economically sound process.

What kinds of food can be served?

Our menu includes, among other things:

  • Premium Burgers
  • Asian and Mexican bowls
  • BBQ Dishes
  • Pita
  • Pasta
  • Currywurst
  • French-inspired dishes
  • Finger Foods and Desserts

Vegetarian and vegan dishes can be included in your order. Gluten-free options are also available and are included at no extra charge. We use halal chicken in select burger and bowl options.

Our main courses are generally offered as a flat rate during the agreed-upon serving time. This means your guests can eat as much as they like during that time. Finger foods and desserts, on the other hand, are calculated based on a pre-agreed quantity that, in our experience, is sufficient.

The meals are freshly prepared on site by trained chefs. Our team includes several chefs with experience in Michelin-starred restaurants.

What services are already included in the offer?

Our standard service time is 2.5 hours. The food truck usually arrives about 60 to 90 minutes before the scheduled start of service so that setup and preparation can be completed on time.

The customized offer takes into account, among other things:

  • Food Trucks and Kitchen Equipment
  • Cooks and serving staff inside the food truck
  • Arrival and Departure
  • Preparation and Inventory Planning
  • Setup and Teardown
  • 2.5 hours of regular meal service
  • Main Courses as a Flat-Rate Meal
  • Disposable tableware and cutlery
  • Napkins and Sauces
  • printed menus
  • Cleaning the Food Truck
  • Waste Disposal
  • personal consultation

Additional costs apply only to services that go beyond the standard food truck operation. These may include service staff outside the truck, reusable tableware, beverages, furniture, tents, decorations, extended service hours, or additional food trucks.

What are the on-site requirements?

For a regular assignment, we usually have only a few requirements:

  • a suitable and as level as possible surface
  • an access road that is sufficiently wide and high
  • a standard 230-volt household electrical outlet

Depending on the vehicle, you should plan on a space of approximately 7 × 3.5 meters. We’ll determine the exact size based on the food truck you’ll be using. A water or wastewater connection isn’t required at most events.

Before booking, you should also check whether the food truck can actually reach the intended location. In cases of narrow driveways, low gates, soft ground, or steep inclines, photos and measurements help us assess the situation.

How much does it cost to hire a food truck for catering?

The cost depends mainly on the number of guests, the meal package, the distance, the serving time, and any additional services.

During peak season, our main courses range from approximately 19 to 40 euros net per person, depending on the menu and the size of the event. For events with 30 to 120 guests, the price typically ranges from 25 to 40 euros net per person. As the number of guests increases, the price per person may decrease because fixed costs are spread across more guests.

In addition, there is a flat fee for travel and service per food truck. This fee is based on the total round-trip distance from the nearest StreetQuizine location in Korschenbroich or Augsburg.

Private customers will receive a personalized quote with the final total price, including the applicable sales tax. You can find a detailed breakdown in our current pricing overview for food truck catering.

What additional services can be booked?

In addition to food truck catering, we can handle other aspects of your event. These include, for example:

  • Soft Drink, Beer, and Wine Packages
  • Aperitifs, long drinks, and mobile bars
  • Self-Service Beverage Stations
  • Service staff outside the food trucks
  • Beer table sets and other furniture
  • Gazebos and Tents
  • Decoration and Branding
  • Finger Foods and Desserts
  • Coffee bikes, ice cream trucks, and other food and drink stands
  • More Detailed Event Planning

We have our own event equipment and work with trusted partners for additional services. This allows us to provide a full-service solution with a single point of contact, depending on the event.

Where can I book StreetQuizine?

StreetQuizine has locations in Korschenbroich and Augsburg. The closer location is used as the basis for calculating the route.

From our location in Korschenbroich, we primarily serve North Rhine-Westphalia, the Rhineland, the Ruhr region, and neighboring areas. From our location in Augsburg, we serve Bavaria and southern Germany. Depending on the date, distance, and size of the event, we provide food truck catering throughout Germany.

With multiple food trucks, we can also cater to larger events or serve multiple locations at the same time.

How does the catering work on the day of the event?

Our team usually arrives 60 to 90 minutes before the scheduled start time for serving. Upon arrival, we position the food truck, connect the power, and prepare the kitchen for serving.

During the agreed-upon time, our chefs will prepare the dishes fresh and serve them directly to your guests. For larger events, we plan menu concepts, food trucks, and additional stations in a way that ensures guests are distributed evenly.

After the event is over, we’ll take care of breaking down the setup, cleaning the food truck, and disposing of any trash we generated. We’ll leave the event venue clean.

Checklist: What You Should Know Before Submitting Your Request

To ensure quick and effective planning, you should be able to answer the following questions if possible:

  • When is the event taking place?
  • Where is the venue located?
  • How many guests are expected?
  • Will all the guests arrive at the same time, or will they arrive at different times?
  • How long should meal service last?
  • What kinds of food are appropriate for the event?
  • Are vegetarian, vegan, or gluten-free options needed?
  • Is there enough space and a 230-volt outlet available?
  • Will beverages, furniture, or other equipment be needed?
  • Is there a designated contact person on site?

Any missing information can be provided during the consultation. Especially for larger corporate events, it is advisable to work together to determine the schedule and distribution times well in advance.

Frequently Asked Questions About Hiring a Food Truck Catering Service

Can I rent just the food truck without staff?

StreetQuizine generally offers the food trucks as a staffed catering service with chefs and serving staff. This ensures that our team remains responsible for food quality, hygiene, and the smooth running of the event.

How many guests are required for food truck catering?

Bookings are generally possible for groups of 30 or more guests. Whether booking our services makes financial sense also depends on the menu, distance, and event date.

How many guests can a food truck accommodate?

Depending on the venue, a single food truck can serve up to about 250 portions per hour. For larger events or very short service windows, we plan to have multiple trucks or additional stations.

Does the food truck need high-voltage power or water?

In most cases, a standard 230-volt electrical outlet is sufficient. A water or sewer connection is not usually required. Any special requirements will be communicated prior to the event.

How far in advance should I book?

For Saturdays in high demand, we recommend submitting a request at least three to six months in advance. Some dates may be fully booked as early as one year in advance. Last-minute bookings are possible if a food truck and the appropriate team are still available.

What happens if the weather is bad?

The kitchen and the food truck service area are generally sheltered. Depending on the weather, pavilions, umbrellas, or other covered areas should be provided for guests. Appropriate equipment can be included upon request.
